Yoga's potential, if you really dive deeply and consistently is life altering, transformative and spirit strengthening. It's the best therapist you'll ever have. It's the hand of God. It's the universe on a mat.

This is my former home studio; a converted living room of an apartment on Mariposa Ave. where I lived for 14 years. It was a palatial, Spanish style, 1 bedroom apartment in the urban sprawl of East Los Angeles just north of Korea Town and west of Silver Lake. It was a special place that served me long and well. It was my sanctuary. My butterfly sanctuary, if you will. At the beginning of my teaching career and for the last two years of my residence here, I taught group classes in this sacred space. It was a true joy to live and conduct yoga within these four walls with alcoves set off by archways and Corinthian columns, original hardwood floors, majestically high and ornately detailed ceilings with crown moldings, a faux finished mantled fireplace with a relief cherub detail and French windows that opened onto the palm tree dotted cityscape. It gave me energy. I thrived here!
The other photos are of the view at night from the living room windows and my kitty, Kamala in silhouette. Yoga has been the most transformative experience of my life. My relationship to my mind, my body and ultimately the world around me has simply...changed! Just by showing up on my mat time and time again, and being willing to really look honestly within, I've opened and experienced wholeness, stillness, strength of body, fortitude of spirit and softness of heart. It has proven an essential tool, a reliable friend and potent medicine. It's a 'way in' to the most authentic part of myself, giving me the clarity to live life with more freedom and acceptance. It is the greatest elixir I know!
I am a rep for Young Living Oils. I use them in the classroom and in my life. They are the most natural oils I've ever experienced. I had a severe allergic reaction to an inferior brand that claimed they were all natural, but alas, they were not! Never once have I felt anything but bliss and relief from these little gems!!! Peace and Calming oil is one of my favorites along with Gratitude, Joy, Peppermint, Lemon, Frankincense, and the always popular, Lavender. Now, if only your computer screen came with a scratch and sniff feature! (click image for more details)
